In this context, Fraunhofer ITWM has developed a methodology and a patented measuring machine MeSOMICS allowing to capture and to measure single electric cables, wiring harnesses and hoses with respect to their material properties. As a result, the software users obtain the parameters that are necessary as input data for an exact simulation, including bending, extensional and torsional stiffness.

In case the exact material properties of the relevant cables and hoses are not available, we can help by stipulating the material properties. With our own MeSOMICS measuring machine, we can carry out the related measurements for you. The resulting stiffness parameters are then used as input data in IPS Cable Simulation in order to obtain realistic and accurate simulation results.
